Illinois mortgage loan officers are required to complete 8 hours of Illinois mortgage broker continuing education each year. The state of Illinois has required a mortgage continuing education requirement for many years; however, this year the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is involved, due to the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act.

The NMLS will track the completion of Illinois mortgage continuing education through collaboration with the state.
